16 Accidentally Vegan Treats That You NEED In Your Life!

Veganism isn’t always about health and not all vegan treats are marked with a big ol’ V, some are hiding in your local supermarket just waiting for you to discover them. I can’t even explain the feeling of happiness I have find out a favourite treat of mine (pre vegan times) is actually vegan.

As someone with a sweet tooth and a love of snacking, accessible vegan products are a must for me (I don’t always have time to get myself to a health food shop). Below is a selection of my favourite accidentally vegan treats, I hope you enjoy!

Cereal Cookie from Lidl

Lidl’s version of Nestle’s Cookie Crisp but accidentally vegan! This tastes just as good as the real thing.

Belvita Breakfast Tops

Biscuits with a Nutella-like topping, absolutely delicious! Belvita also have a range of Soft Bake’s which also have an accidentally vegan chocolate version, super yummy.

Tesco’s Frozen Churro’s

Easy pudding for when friends are around for shoving in the oven. Warm chocolate, lovely dough and cinnamon sugar to top it off. Lidl also sell a vegan version of these.

Betty Crocker’s Chocolate Fudge Brownie Mix

Replace the egg and milk with plant based options and you’ve got yourself a yummy pudding. Serve it with dairy free ice cream, perfection!

Papa John’s Special Garlic Dip

When I first tried this dip I wasn’t sure, now I am addicted! Super buttery, I couldn’t believe it was vegan. Papa John’s bases are vegan so are great for when you’re in the mood for a naughty dinner. For more on Papa John’s UK vegan options, click here.

Oreo’s, Fox’s Party Rings, Fox’s Cookie Minis, Drumstick Choos

Oreo’s are always my go-to accidentally vegan snack when my sweet tooth is going crazy.

As a 90’s kid, Party Rings were a birthday party essential, so I am so glad I can still enjoy these.

Fox’s Cookie Minis are just teeny weeny chunks of sugary goodness, worth trying!

Drumstick Choos are great. Another snack from my childhood, just now without the stick.

Tesco Finest Garlic & Parsley Ciabatta

A lovely addition to a pasta dish. Sainsbury’s basics garlic bread is also accidentally vegan, worth trying both of these!

Marks and Spencer’s Iced & Spiced Fruit Bun

My favourite thing to grab when I’m waiting at the till in M&S. These also come in bigger packs but be careful, they’re highly addictive.

Marks and Spencer’s Vegetable Samosa

Great for on the go and full of flavour.

Sainsbury’s Bramley Apple & Blackcurrant Pies

These are perfect served with Alpro or Oatly custard. Keep in mind, the apple pies that Sainsbury’s do unfortunately contain cow’s milk.

Elizabeth Shaw Mint Crisp

I devoured this box over Christmas. These would be perfect as a birthday present, the box is cute too!

Soreen Banana Lunchbox Loaves

These gooey little bars are lovely as an afternoon snack with a cuppa.

Lotus Biscoff Biscuit

If you’re vegan and don’t know about these, where have you been?! You need to try them! Also, their spreads are amazing, you’ll be eating them straight from the jar in no time.
